  The team

Janicke Kernland studied philosophy at the University of Oslo before joining the art school Höhere Schule für Gestaltung in Luzern, Switzerland to study Visual Communications. In 1992 she took her Masters degree with honors in Communications Design, Mixed Media at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. 
After working for Shapiro Design in New York, NY, she moved to Dresden, Germany to work for the Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte developing and designing exhibitions. In 1999 she moved to Maastricht, The Netherlands to work for the city organizing exhibitions and cultural events in their city center Centre Céramique. In 2002 she started her own business.

Robin van Hontem studied graphic design at the Graphic Lyceum in Eindhoven, Netherlands and product design at the ABK Maastricht. He worked as an Intern at Frederik Roije in Amsterdam before joining Studio Kernland.

Daniel Meier studied Architecture at the ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule) in Zürich, Switzerland and took his Masters in 1992 in Fine Art, majoring in sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He worked as an Architect in Switzerland, USA, Germany and the Netherlands before joining Studio Kernland.

Prisca Sinay
studied Fine Arts at St. Joost Academy in Breda, Netherlans and at ABK Maastricht. Traveling to Spain and the African continent had an important influence on her life. She studied literature, poetry and history of art at the Universidad de Granada in Spain. After returning to the Netherlands she worked as an independent artist and developed art projects before joining the team in 2006. Today she works for Studio Kernland as a freelancer project manager from her hometown, Granada.

Saskia Wolters is the administrative support of the company.

We work closely together with the companies Meier + Moor and Werkmannen.
